Incoming Freshman Parent Night is an optional opportunity to come and learn about the various aspects of the LMHS Band.

The Drum Line Clinics & Auditions are for those percussionists interested in auditioning for the Marching Rams Drum Line. Percussionists that are not part of the drum line are part of the Front Ensemble. Front Ensemble Auditions are for students that would like to try out for specific instrument on the front ensemble, such as bells, marimba, xylophone, or vibraphone. All percussionists are in the same class during the school day. The Drum Line and Front Ensemble Audition packets are available on the band’s website, marchingrams.org.

Wind Ensemble & Jazz Band Auditions are for those students interested in auditioning for our two advanced performance ensembles. While these ensembles are predominantly upperclassmen, there are often spots for freshmen that meet the performance criteria. Students that do not audition for these ensembles will be placed in the non-audition ensembles, the Symphonic Band and Jazz Combo class.

Marching Rams Orientation is an event in the summer where families are introduced to the details of Marching Rams membership. This includes the filling out of appropriate paperwork and the ordering of accessories and uniform elements. This process reserves a student’s spot in the halftime show. Students that are not able to attend this should contact the director to ensure a spot in the halftime show.

Rookie Band Camp is a 3-day set of clinics where new members learn the fundamentals of marching. All new band members should attend these clinics.

Band Camp is a required week-long event where all members of the LMHS Band learn the halftime show. It includes marching fundamentals, instrument instruction by guest clinicians, and performing  the show’s premier for our families.
