MPA Information
Congratulations to the both the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble for their performance at the 2013 MPA of the Florida Bandmasters Association. The Symphonic Band received straight Excellent ratings on stage and a Superior rating in sight reading and the Wind Ensemble earned Straight SUPERIOR ratings for the third consecutive year. Both bands performed amazingly and represented the band and school well. Again congratulations to both groups!
The JazzRAMS performed at the 2013 Jazz MPA in February and received straight SUPERIOR ratings. The performance was amazing and everyone in attendance was wow-ed at how much energy and fun it was to hear our band on stage. Solo’s by Will Harrington and Skyler Diacheysn on trumpet and sax were amazing as well as Skyler’s singing to “Hop, Skip and a Jump” was incredible. Way to go JazzRAMS!
Registering as a Dividend
Every adult who chaperones the band must register as a Dividend with Seminole County Public Schools. The process is quick and painless, and must be done every year. In addition to being cleared by the school district, chaperones log in all the hours spent on band, either at school or off-site. These band volunteer hours are the single biggest source of Dividend hours for LMHS, resulting in our being awarded the status of a Gold Star School.
